South Africa elect to bat first

South Africa won the toss and elected to bat against India in the second Test at Kingsmead in Durban on Tuesday.

The hosts have suffered a body blow with Jacques Kallis pulling out of the squad because of a back strain. Andrew Hall has come in as his replacement.

Morne Morkel will make his Test debut in place of Dale Steyn who is still to recover from his thigh injury sustained in the first Test at the Wanderers earlier this month.

India have gone into the game with an unchanged squad.
