The final day of the second Test between India and South Africa in Durban began after a 55-minute delay due to bad light.

India, chasing a victory target of 354, were 38 for two at the end of the fourth day with Wasim Jaffer and Sachin Tendulkar at the crease.

Play was scheduled to start at 9.30 local time (1 PM IST); half an hour before that time, the sky was overcast, the light was murky enough to warrant the switching on of the lights, rain was reported from areas close to the ground though not at the ground itself .

The weather forecast for the day, meanwhile, predicts an 80 per cent chance of rain. Overall, chances increasingly are that the Test could end in gloom, after four days of fascinating action.
