South Africa retained the squad that lost the Champions Trophy semi-final for the first of the five-match ODI cricket series against India, in Johannesburg on November 19.

The selectors also reposed faith in skipper Graeme Smith, under fire for his indifferent form and tactics, in announcing the 14-member squad.

South Africa made it to the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy in India recently before going down to underdogs the West Indies in a one-sided encounter.

Also picked was a 15-member Rest of South Africa squad that will take on India in a warm-up game in Benoni on November 16 and a group of four players who would form part of the South African ICC World Cup training squad.

Squad: Graeme Smith (capt), Jacques Kallis (vice-capt), Loots Bosman, Mark Boucher (wk), AB de Villiers, Boeta Dippenaar, Herschelle Gibbs, Andrew Hall, Justin Kemp, Charl Langeveldt, Andre Nel, Makhaya Ntini Robin Peterson and Shaun Pollock.

Players for the World Cup training squad: J P Duminy, Alviro Peterson, Roger Telemachus and Johan van der Wath.
