Scindia scoffs at exit polls, predicts majority for CongressCongress general secretary Madhavrao Scindia today questioned the 'reliability' of exit polls and claimed that his party would form the next government at the Centre. Talking to reporters, Scindia charged the BJP with misusing Doordarshan. ''It is really strange how the exit polls could be telecast soon after voting,'' he said. Maintaining that the exit polls were being "wrongly'' used, he said it was impossible to draw a conclusion from a sample of few thousands. Stating that political stability was the main issue in this election, he said holding elections every year was not good for the political system. Scindia claimed that the minorities and the Dalits would repose faith in the Congress. This was prominently reflected in Uttar Pradesh, he said. On the allegations of Defence Minister George Fernandes about printing of ballot papers in Bihar and the controversy over Bihar governor's observations about poll violence, Scindia said, ''People with a strong faith in the democratic system should raise objections over it''. If the report of the Intelligence Bureau is available with Fernandes, the same should be made available to all the candidates, he said. He expressed the hope that the Congress would muster more than 25 of the total 40 seats in Madhya Pradesh. UNI
