Hyundai rolls out first Euro-II compliant Santro
To mark the occasion, Hyundai donated the first Euro-II car to Panchavati Green Movement, which under permission from the Delhi government, is launching a one-year campaign against the use of polybags. Speaking on the occasion, HMIL managing director K R Kim said, ''Our plan to introduce Euro-II Santro is a natural consequence of the continuous process of technological upgradation."
Besides, all future products of Hyundai, including the next offering code-named LC, will meet the Euro-II emission norms from the time of their launch in the country. Sales of the Euro-II Santro would be restricted to the National Capital Region for the time being while the demand in the rest of the nation would be serviced with the existing Euro-I compliant cars. However, if any customer outside the NCR wants to own a Euro-II compliant car, he can have it. Of the Rs 12,000 increase in the price tag of the vehicle, the realisation to the company would be to the extent of Rs 6,000, he added. HMIL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the $ 8.24 billion Hyundai Motor Company of Korea. UNI The Supreme Court's order on car emissions and impact on the auto industry
