Chhattisgarh govt keen to 'buy' Balco

The Chhattisgarh government is likely to submit a cheque of Rs 5.52 billion in the Supreme Court to purchase the 51 per cent shares of Bharat Aluminium Company (Balco).

Indications to this effect were spelt by state Chief Minister Ajit Jogi while taking to newspersons on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the strike of the labourers over the privatisation of Balco, entered the tenth day on Monday.
