      On December 27 -- a day before late Reliance chairman Dhirubhai Ambani's birthday -- Reliance Infocomm, a subsidiary of the Reliance Group of Industries formally unveiled its much awaited mobile service.

Launched under the name IndiaMobile, this nationwide Wireless in Local Loop network has the most ambitious tariff plan ever listed by any telecom company in India.

Expectations are sky high, but whether Reliance will really revolutionise the telecom industry is still to be seen.
