Two multi-product SEZ projects promoted by Reliance Industries' Chief Mukesh Ambani and the Tatas are among others that would come up for clearance at the meeting of the Board of Approvals in New Delhi on Thursday.

Both these proposals had come up for approval earlier but were not cleared for want of clarifications from various government agencies.

As regards the 1,250 hectare Navi Mumbai SEZ, promoted by Ambani and his close aide Anand Jain, revenue department wanted to find out for itself whether arrangements were made for plugging revenue leakages that could happen because of a road passing through the zone.

The 1,173-hectare Gopalpur SEZ, promoted by Tatas in Ganjam district of Orissa, was deferred in September last year because the BoA wanted to ensure that it posed no problem to a security facility close by.

Of the remaining 39 cases, 11 do not have land. Eight proposals coming before the BoA are new ones, while the rest are carried over from the earlier meetings.

The proposals that have land would be granted formal approval straightaway, officials said. Other important proposals coming before the board are the 2,024 hectare multi-product SEZ by Shipra Estate in Aligarh, 1,012 hectare multi-product SEZ by Indian Infrastructure Corporation in Gujarat and the 1,000 hectare multi-product SEZ by SRM Infrastructure in Rajasthan.
