Amid growing uncertainty over the Tata Motors' Nano project taking off at Singur, a meeting between West Bengal government and the company's officials will be held here on Sunday.
''The meeting between the state government and the Tata Motors officials will be held on September 28,'' Chief Secretary Amit Kiran Deb told reporters at the state secretariat.
He, however, declined to say who would represent the state government and the Tata Motors in the meeting.
The meeting will take place amidst speculation that Tata Motors is preparing to pull out from Singur due to continued agitation by Trinamool Congress-led opposition demanding return of 400 acres of land to 'unwilling' farmers.
Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has demanded shifting of the vendors park of the Tata Motors from its present site to the opposite side of the Durgapur expresway.
The state government and the Tatas have said since the car factory and ancillary units make up an integrated project, the two sites cannot be seperated.
