The US and Europe are at the forefront of trying to resolve the global economic crisis and are making progress towards prosperity again, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton [ Images ] has said.

The European countries are expected to play a leading role at the G-20 Summit in London [ Images ] on April 2.

Europe and the US "are at the forefront of trying to solve this problem and get our economy growing again, get people back to work, and have a sense that we're in this together and we're making progress towards prosperity again," Clinton told RTL-TVI, the top TV channel in French-speaking Belgium.

"The United States and Europe are working together. Of course there will be the big G-20 meeting in London in a few weeks. (British) Prime Minister Gordon Brown [ Images ] was meeting with President (Barack) Obama to talk about the agenda," she said, according to the transcript of the interview released in Washington.
