Hrithik lets his hair down!

Sita Menon in Bangalore

Feroz Khan's sprawling estate at Chikkabidarakallu village, off Tumkur Road, saw a never before seen Hrithik Roshan on Monday night.

The soon-to-be-married actor was in what you would call a lighthearted moment. If there were nerves, they were conspicuous by their absence.

Dressed impeccably in an all-black suit, Hrithik chatted, laughed and generally had a good time at fiancee Suzanne Khan's uncle, Feroz Khan's cocktail party. Suzanne was dressed in a glittering gold dress, looking every inch a bride-to-be.

The guests numbered 150, all of them family and relatives, including Suzanne's actor cousin Fardeen Khan and Karnataka Tourism Minister Roshan Baig. However, Dilshad, Sanjay and Feroz Khan's only sister, was absent at the party. She is said to have relocated to Kashmir from Delhi.

The celebration was held around the swimming pool on the estate, which wore a festive look having been lit up with powerful halogen lamps. Three generators were used for providing the electricity.

Music ruled the night, with pop singer Sukhbir doubling up as the deejay, with the ample vocal muscle of Lucky Ali, Shankar Mahadevan, Udit Narayan and Sonu Nigam.

Hrithik then took to dance and, after a while, took off his coat, and grooved far into the night.

Indian and Mughlai were the preferred cuisine for the evening, and the food was catered to by Tandoor, a popular restaurant on M G Road.

The party went on till 0530 on Tuesday morning. Last heard, at noon, Feroz and Fardeen Khan were still sleeping off its effects.

Hrithik and Suzanne's wedding will begin around 1400 hours on Wednesday, followed later that night by a grand reception.
