Aamir Khan might star in Zee Network's Waaris.

Aamir Khan B L Gautam, vice-president, Zee Network, said, "Aamir Khan has met Nittin Keni once, and he had asked for time. He then got busy with Lagaan. Now, he is a bit relaxed and has asked for the bound script of Waaris. We might have a meeting with star some time next month."

Gautam adds, "We have been talking to both Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir for the film."

Meanwhile, Zee is all set to release their second film as distributors. Tere Liye, a non-starrer film with 12 new faces, will hit the silver screen in September. "We intend to release at least one film a month by early next year," informs Gautam.

However, one wonders what prompted Zee to acquire the rights of Tere Liye, a small film with a whole new cast and crew. Gautam explains, "The film is has great music. The story is told through the music. Besides, there is no guarantee that a big starcast will ensure success at the box office."

Dewang Dholakia, producer of Tere Liye, says, "We met a number of people but no one helped. We are really grateful to Zee for buying our film."

Apparently, when Dholakia and director Sanjay Gadhvi started work on the project they approached a number of stars. "But nobody gave us the time nor showed any inclination," says Dholakia informs.

Aamir Khan Now, both director and producer are confident that they will recover their money from the film. Says Gautam, "The music of the film is good that we might recover the cost from the music itself. It is definitely safer than the other big budget films that are being made today."

Zee is also producing two more small budget films with are co-productions: Haasil, which stars Jimmy Shergill and Hrishita Bhatt with Karma Productions, and Aur Phir with Tracinema.

"We will definitely make big budget films like Gadar - Ek Prem Katha," reveals Gautam.

He adds, "The next big budget film, Waaris, will begin by the end of this year with either Aamir or Shah Rukh."
