As an actor Anil Kapoor has a steady ride. Although, his last couple of films, Nayak and Lajja was BO disasters, Pukar won him the National Award in the Best actor category.

Anil Kapoor is most acceptable in stellar roles in social family entertainers. But after having lived through two decades in the film industry, people now expect him in more serious and interesting roles.

He saw his peak with Tezaab and Ram Lakhan. His biggest plus point was that he never got stuck in a rut. Comedy, dance, drama and action, he has done it all. And how! Anil has certainly had a very good run.

He is one of the few actors who has the courage to do offbeat roles, taking risks with roles like the ones he did in Eeshwar and Lamhe.

Anil was one of the most meticulous actors, even before Aamir’s perfectionism became so talked about. At one point in his career, he started doing fewer films. He actually returned signing amounts and decided to do only quality cinema.

Anil has created a fine balance between the masses and classes. BO-wise he has reached a point where flops or hits do not really matter anymore.

His audience mainly consists of those looking forward to seeing him in strong supporting roles like the ones he did in Taal and Biwi No 1. That’s his forte. In Biwi No 1, he stole the thunder from lead hero Salman Khan with his rib-tickling act.

His pairing with actresses like Madhuri Dixit and to some extent Sridevi has been most fruitful. For instance: Ram Lakhan, Tezaab, Pukar, Mr India and Lamhe.

He has never been a poster guy, really. He is respected and known for his talent and performances rather than any external factors. Always turning his negative points into his positive ones, Anil has a lot to offer as an actor.
