Unoriginal, uninspiring and unimpressive!
Priyanka Bhattacharya
After listening to the music of Kitne Door Kitne Paas I have come to one conclusion.
Either I have been listening to too many Hindi film songs or Kitne Door... has an absolutely uninspiring and unoriginal musical score.
The title track, Kitne door…is just about passable. Credit goes to Kavita Krishnamurthy and Udit Narayan who infuse some freshness in it.
Ji jeend jaan jawani janam has been directly lifted from Hata sawan ki ghata from Hello Brother. And I always thought they copied super hit tunes only!
Next on, Roop Kumar Rathod and Jayshree Shivram croon Humko mohabbat dhoond rahi thi. Any efforts to sound soulful backfires miserably as the song just drags on.
KK’s enthusiasm in his rendition of Rulati hai mohabbatein is infectious. Alas, the song fails to make an impact though it does have its moments.
Diwana dil hai mera rendered by Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan vaguely reminds you of the catchy Deewaana from Indian.
Yaar mein India chala begins on a promising note, but wanders halfway through. However, I quite liked the lyrics, by Anand Bakshi, about a man waiting to go back to India for a marriage arranged by his mother.
At the end of it all I felt a sense of relief and maybe glee that this album has only six tracks and no repetitions.
Overall, a mediocre score by Sanjeev – Darshan who yet have to match the standards of their debut film Mann.
