Parikh to contest from DhandhukaGujarat Chief Minister Dilip Parikh will contest the coming assembly election from Dhandhuka, the ruling Rashtriya Janata Party announced on Monday. Releasing the first list of 22 nominees, state RJP president Madhusudan Mistry said his party had decided to field 'strong' candidates to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state. The list of candidates include dalits, scheduled tribes and Muslim representatives, he said. Besides, youth and women also find place on it. The youngest minister, Vipul Choudhary, will contest from the Mansa constituency. The other candidates announced are: Babubhai Shah (Rapar-Kutch), Ranjeetsinh Jhala (Vadhwan), Narsinh Padhiar (Halwad), Shahnazben Babi (Wankaner), Kashmiraben Nathwani (Rajkot), Vithalbhai Radaria (Jetpur), Raja Suwa (Upleta), Raghavji Patel (Dhron-Jodia), Bhanuben Solanki (Gadhda-Umrala), Madhubhai Thakore (Daskroi), Girish Parmar (Shaherkotda), V D Jhala (Prantij), C K Raulji (Godhra), Manibhai Patel (Kapadwanaj), Jayendra Khatri (Khambhat), Khumansinh Vansia (Wagra), Motilal Vasava (Dediapada), Dhanji Patel (Kamrej), Bhagubhai Patel - Vimal (Olpad) and Madanlal Bunki (Surat-east). During the next four days, party chief Shankarsinh Vaghela will tour Maharashtra, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan to canvass support, Mistry said. UNI |
