UP govt revokes BSP MLAs's postingsThe Uttar Pradesh government has put on hold the appointments of four Bahujan Samaj Party legislators as chairmen of state corporations, and another as vice-chairman of the State Planning Commission as directed by the Election Commission. The Commission had taken a serious view of the appointments after elections were announced and said the action was in violation of the model code of conduct. Sources said the state government in a communication on Monday said it held the Commission in high esteem and status quo ante would be maintained as far as the appointments were concerned. The MLAs were appointed chairmen of the Social Welfare Corporation, Agriculture Development Corporation, SC-ST Corporation and UP Agro Corporation. UNI |
