An obscure Islamic sect has shot to prominence in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh in the last two months. Ostracised by orthodox Muslim groups in India but aided by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence, the Deendar Anjuman follows a strange eclectic theology, and is allegedly behind the recent blasts in south Indian churches.
