''It appears prima facie that what Tehelka.com has exposed is true and the government will have to take care of its administration," RSS spokesperson M G Vaidya told reporters in New Delhi on the sidelines of the meeting of the RSS' National General Council.
''After Bofors, it was decided that there would be no middlemen in defence deals but that has not been followed. It is unfortunate," he remarked.
Asked about the RSS background of Bangaru Laxman, who had resigned as BJP president in the wake of the expose, Vaidya said Laxman had 'failed as a swayam sevak'.
RSS general secretary Mohan Bhagwat said, "The corruption exposed by the web site should be probed and the guilty punished."
Defence deals should be transparent and without any corruption, he said.
About political turmoil following the expose, he said, ''Leaders of the government are competent to handle the situation.''
