Musharraf ready to go to Moscow for talks with Vajpayee

Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday said he has accepted an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Moscow for talks with Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

However, Musharraf said that he does not know whether Vajpayee would accept Putin's invitation to visit the Russian capital for talks.

Addressing a press conference in Almaty after his meeting with Putin, Musharraf said, "The Russian leader invited me in principle and I will go when we have fixed the dates."

"I appreciate the effort of Mr Putin to bring both Mr Vajpayee and myself to the negotiating table," he added.
