Pak has hand in Jammu terror attack: Fernandes

Defence Minister George Fernandes on Wednesday accused Pakistan of having a hand in Tuesday's terrorist attack on an army camp at Kalochak near Jammu in which 33 persons were killed and several injured.

Shortly after arriving in Jammu for an on-the-spot study of the situation, Fernandes met army personnel in the Kalochak camp and also paid a visit to the army hospital at Satwari where the 43 injured persons are recuperating.

Describing the attack as shocking, he told reporters that Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf appeared to be permitting training of terrorists in his country and sending them across the border to kill children and women in cold blood.

"Is this not a grave human rights violation by these terrorists aided and abetted by Pakistan?" he asked.

Fernandes added that he did not expect anything better from Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Home I D Swami also arrived in Jammu and drove to the army camp for a first hand report on the suicide attack.
