A day after the terrorist attack near Jammu which left 33 people dead, India on Wednesday made it clear that it would not tolerate Pakistan-sponsored terrorism anymore.
"Let us not forget that the United Nation Security Council resolution 1373 puts Pakistan under Chapter 7 to take action against terrorism. Pakistan has made some cosmetic adjustments, but there are no structural changes [in its fight against terror," external affairs ministry spokeswoman Nirupama Rao said.
She pointed out that there were "tangible breaches" in Pakistan's commitment to fight terrorism and emphasised that "our concerns have been fully registered with the US".
Commenting on the US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Christina Rocca's visit to India on Tuesday, Rao said: "There is an enormous degree of commonality on various Indo-US issues."
"We have driven home to the US that much more needs to be done by Pakistan in order to make us ready for [Indo-Pak] talks," the spokeswoman said.
"The move has to come from Pakistan. We are looking at deeds and not words," Rao said.
"The (India's) message conveyed to Rocca was unequivocal, frank and forthright," she underscored.
When asked about the threat of war with Pakistan, she said: "India is a stable and mature democracy and it has various options available to it. It will take the necessary steps when needed. I cannot comment on it."
The Indo-US Defence Policy Group would be meeting on May 20 and 21, she added.
