ISI asks terrorists to dominate border areas

Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence and sabotage units of the Maugla striking corps have directed terrorists to dominate strategic places in border belts and areas south of Pir Panjal hills, intelligence sources said on Wednesday.

The Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Tayiba, Harkat-ul-Jehadis-Islami, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen and Al-Badr are some of the groups that have been issued orders, the sources said quoting intercepts.

"War is possible. You take positions along the border's sensitive points," one of the intercepts said.

The intelligence reports indicated that the terrorists would try to converge in border belts of Rajouri, Poonch, Jammu and Kathua.

"In case of war or limited conflict, they can create trouble for defence set up, convoy and ground troops by engaging them in border areas," the sources said.

There were as many as 3000 terrorists, 80 per cent of them foreign mercenaries, south of Pir Panjal, the sources said.

The ISI had also directed the terrorists to fight from one platform, said Anjum alias Mehrul-islam, a recently arrested terrorist.

"We have been directed by the Pakistan army and ISI to make joint strategies and form a joint group during an attack or an action against targets," Anjum, who was captured by civilians during an encounter near Rajouri town, said.
