Militant hideout busted in Jammu; 5 killed

Five people, including a soldier, two Special Police Officers and two militants, were killed in separate incidents in Poonch and Kathua district of Jammu division since Wednesday where security forces busted a militant hideout, sources said.

In Poonch district, a soldier and a militant were killed during an encounter at Sanai village. In another incident, a militant of Al-badr outfit was killed in Swajian area, while a militant hideout was busted in Dhara-sangla area.

In Doda district, security forces arrested three Hizbul Mujahideen militants. Sources said they are being interrogated.

In the operations, security forces recovered three Kalashnikov rifles, several magazines, 10 detonators and three binoculars.

In Kathua district, three militants killed two SPOs in their house at Tanter village.
