The Union government has summoned Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed to Delhi to discuss the law and order situation in the state in the light of the spurt in terrorist attacks, including the one on the Raghunath temple.
A senior government official told rediff.com on Tuesday that a decision in this regard was taken after a meeting between Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and his deputy Lal Kishenchand Advani.
On Monday, Advani had accused the state government of releasing terrorists without taking the Union government into confidence and thereby giving a fillip to terrorism.
J&K Finance Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beig had claimed that the state had released 26 terrorists after getting a nod from the Centre.
When contacted on phone, the Mufti told rediff.com: "Yes, I am coming to Delhi in the next two or three days."
He, however, refused to react to the statement made by the deputy prime minister in Parliament.
"I will make a statement on the floor of the state assembly and during my reply I will deal with this subject," the Mufti added.
