2 BSF jawans, 8 ultras killed in J&K

Eight militants were among 11 people killed in separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

Four of the militants were killed in an encounter with army and Border Security Force personnel in the Saldhar-Mahore area in Udhampur district, official sources in Jammu said.

Four AK-56 rifles with eight magazines and 120 rounds of ammunition, four hand grenades and some Indian currency were recovered from the slain militants.

In another incident, militants barged into the house of Ghulam Nabi in Mahore area in Udhampur district and shot him dead.

In a third incident, security forces foiled an infiltration bid killing two militants in Sunderbani area in Rajouri district. Sources said some arms and ammunition were recovered from the scene.

In a fourth incident, two militants and two BSF head constables were killed in a gunfight in Rajouri district.

Two AK-47 rifles, four grenades, a radio set and Rs 100,000 in Indian currency were recovered from the scene.
