A five-member team under Commissioner of Railway Safety (Eastern Circle) Mahesh Chand on Monday commenced its inquiry into the September 9 derailment of the 2301 Up Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express.
The derailment occurred near Rafiganj in Bihar's Aurangabad district and the official figures put the toll at 119 persons killed and over 250 injured.
The team recorded statements of seven persons at Gaya railway station. Tuesday is the last day for appearing before the inquiry team in Gaya.
Interestingly, two more bodies were recovered from the debris on Sunday even though the railways have called off their search operations.
