All India Engineering Entrance Test
The All India Engineering Entrance Examination for 2004 will be held on May 9 next, the Central Board of Secondary Education, which conducts the examination, said.
The single day examination will be conducted all over the country for admission to engineering, pharmacy and architecture courses, the CBSE said.

Diploma Course in Urdu Language
The National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language announces a one year Diploma Course in Urdu Language through English and Hindi medium in distance education mode. The Diploma Course of Urdu Language has been divided into two parts. The first part will be acquainting the learner with the Urdu script. The second part of the course will enable students to graduate to study Urdu language and literature.
The first part of the course is based on 15 lessons. A workbook covering each lesson will be supplied to learners for reading and doing exercises, and the learning level assessed by experts bi-monthly.
The second part of the course is based on 26 units (17 units from Urdu prose and 9 units from Urdu poetry). Two workbooks covering 26 lessons will be supplied to the learners for reading and doing exercises, and the learning level assessed by the experts bi-monthly.
In addition to these books, four Karadi Katha cassettes, based on the Panchtantra and Jataka stories created by Gulzar, will be supplied to students to improve comprehension of Urdu words and their proper pronunciation.
After completion of the course all successful learners will be issued a Diploma Certificate by NCPUL.
