Modi gives Rs 3 lakh to jawans who foiled Ayodhya attack

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has given a reward of Rs 3 lakh to Uttar Pradesh's Provincial Armed Constabulary personnel for foiling the terrorist attack on the disputed Ayodhya complex on July 5, 2005.

The money had been received by state police headquarters and would soon be distributed among the PAC jawans who were engaged in the operation, police officials said on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, UP Director-General of Police Bua Singh has recommended to Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav to reward Rs 2 lakh to members of the Special Task Force team that investigated the twin blasts at Sankat Mochan temple and Cantonment railway station at Varanasi on March 7.
