A day after a local television channel in Meerut ran sexually explicit footage, allegedly of the murdered Dr Kavita Rani Chaudhary, lecturer of Chaudhary Charan Singh University, the state police and Kavita's brother claimed ignorance about the matter.

Parts of a CD were telecast by the Zee television network on Thursday morning too, in a special programme on crime.

"I have heard that a local television network has released the CD but I have not seen it. We are now trying to get the CD from the television channel and then examine whether or not it is genuine," Jagmohan Yadav, inspector general of Meerut range, told rediff.com over the phone.

Satish Malik, Kavita's brother, claimed that he has not seen the CD. "I do not get Zee network in my village in Bullandshahar. I must see it first and then I will be able to comment," he told rediff.com.

Kavita was allegedly murdered by Ravinder Pradhan and three others, who have been arrested in the case.
