Breaking her silence for the first time since her teenaged daughter Arushi was killed in Noida on May 15, Dr Nupur Talwar in an exclusive interview with NDTV defended her husband Dr Rajesh Talwar to the hilt.

Nupur said both Rajesh and Arushi were close to each other and they were preparing for her birthday on May 24.

Nupur was at the house when the alleged double murders took place in the Sector 25 residence of the Talwars. She dismissed the claim that there was any sort of phyicial relationship between Dr Talwar and Anita Durrani.

"This is not true. The Durranis have been part of our extended family. When I could not leave my child at her nani's place, I would leave the baby with Anita. Her daughter is barely six months older than mine. The Durranis have come to our rescue when Dr Talwar had an asthmatic attack and it was Anita's husband who took him to hospital," she said.

Nupur said that she woud get justice for the family and back Rajesh in his legal battle. "The culprits are roaming free," she alleged.

On May 15, husband and wife gave a camera to their daughter so that she could take pictures. She was delighted according to the mother. She said that Hemraj was her trusted servant and was happy to see Arushi take palak paneer on the fateful day and told Nupur, "Didi aaj baby ne palak paneer khaya."

She dimissed all the so-called confession stories in the newspapers and the love triangle. She claimed that she was sleeping next to Rajesh, but could not figure out what happened to her daughter and how she was killed when both the parents were sleeping in the house with the child.
