Dissident Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kalyan Singh on Sunday met Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav amid growing apprehensions that the BJP's 'mandir-mandal' face may change sides in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls.
Kalyan, who is also a party vice-president, on Sunday held discussions with Mulayam at an undisclosed location in East Delhi for more than an hour in the afternoon.

SP General Secretary Amar Singh was also present at the meeting, top sources in Samajwadi Party said.

Kalyan has been openly criticising the saffron party's policies and had also appeared in the media recently supporting former Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat.

Sources in BJP said that the meeting could have been triggered due to Kalyan's presumption of disciplinary action against him.

"His anti-party stand and open criticism for the last six months is reason enough for action against him and something was in fray which he would have presumed to happen before party's national executive meeting in the first week of February in Nagpur," a top BJP leader told PTI.

The meeting of Kalyan Singh with SP leader comes a day before BJP was to finalise the Lok Sabha candidates in the Central Election Committee starting Monday.

Kalyan has been objecting to the announcement of Ashok Pradhan's candidature from Bulandshahar. Singh's candidature has already been announced from Etah by the party.
