April 09, 2009 14:36 IST

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday obtained specimen signatures of former Satyam Computer chairman B Ramalinga Raju and four others accused in connection with the multi-crore rupee fraud in the IT company.

The CBI obtained 60 signatures each of B Ramalinga Raju, his brother and former MD Rama Raju, ex-CFO Vadlamani Srinivas and two former auditors of Price Waterhouse, S Gopalakrishnan and Talluri Srinivas, in the presence of their counsels in the court of the XIV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.

B Ramalinga Raju and others were brought amid tight security in a police van to the court from the Chanchalguda jail and were sent back to the jail before 12 noon after their signatures were taken.

The CBI, investigating the fraud, had sought court permission to obtain signatures of the accused to tally with the ones in seized vouchers, cash memos and other documents which were fake and fabricated.
