RBI, 926 bank branches to accept advance I-T

RBI logoThe Reserve Bank of India said on Monday that 926 computerised branches of public sector and private sector banks would accept advance income tax in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.

Of these, 862 branches belong to public sector banks. Thirty-five HDFC Bank, 10 ICICI Bank and 19 Axis Bank branches would also accept advance income tax.

"Long queues and inconveniences can be avoided at the Reserve Bank of India counters if the assesses in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai utilise the services being made available at varous designated branches of banks and deposit their income tax dues well in advance of the last date," the release said.
