Trade policy: Good news for exporters

India will continue the duty refund scheme till Decemer 2010 and extend the income tax holiday for export-oriented units for one more year, Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma said while announcing the Foreign Trade Policy on Thursday.

The government has set an export target of $200 billion for 2010-11. In a bid to encourage manufacturing, capital goods will attract zero duty till March 2011.

The industrial production rose by 7 per cent in July, Anand Sharma said.
