IIM Lucknow begins student exchange programme

booksThe Indian Institute of Management Lucknow will host around 30 foreign students and send 45 of its own abroad as part of a student exchange programme.

President, Student Exchange Cell, Prof Shailendra Singh said on Friday that the 45 students going abroad will not only act as brand ambassadors of IIM Lucknow but also promote India's culture, ethos and values.

"The international exposure will broaden understanding of students on various issues related to management and help them handle ambiguity better," Singh said adding the institute will also play host to 30 students from different countries.

The programme started in 2001 has grown to be one of the biggest student exchange programs in the country, the IIML authorities claimed adding the institute's alliance with top business schools across the globe spreads across four continents and 22 universities. Students from its previous exchange batches have won numerous accolades like the Best International Student Award in HHL Germany, they said.

"Several foreign universities are partnering with IIM Lucknow to welcome our students, while sending theirs to take advantage of IIML's world-class infrastructure and teaching methodologies, IIML officials said. Some of the partner institutes of IIML include- ESCP-EAP (France); McMaster University (Canada); ESSEC (France); EBS (Germany); HHL (Germany); REIMS (France); CBS (Denmark); UCL (Belgium); Bocconi (Italy) and ESADE (Spain).
