Korean consumer durables firm LG Electronics on Monday announced major changes in its existing top management structure in India.

In other changes, LG has shifted Director Marketing V Ramachandran to the rank of Head Strategy, the former business head of home and entertainment Amitabh Tiwari appointed as the Head Sales, and Rohit Pandit has been promoted to the position of Business head for its Home Entertainment division.

"We at LG India are delighted to introduce these new changes in the top management. With this we aim to increase operating efficiency and establish greater autonomy at the operating level; strengthening the independence of LG India as a subsidiary to LG Electronics," LG Electronics India Managing Director Moon B Shin said.

Besides this, the company has recently appointed Sudhin Mathur as the Business Head of Mobile Communication. Prior to this appointment Mathur served as Marketing Head of Sony Ericsson.

All these changes will come into effect from Jan 1, 2010, Shin said.
