Domestic passenger-car sales rose by 7.81 per cent to 107,531 units in June 2009 from 99,741 units in the same month last year.
According to the figures released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers on Wednesday, motorcycle sales in the country during the month was up 16.23 per cent at 550,833 units from 473,899 units in the same month a year ago.
The total two-wheeler sales in June surged by 17.44 per cent to 706,937 units compared to 601,941 units in the same period last year.
However, commercial vehicle sales last month decreased to 36,193 units from 41,369 units in the year-ago period, a fall of 12.51 per cent, SIAM said.
