The bullet train project would be pursued by the railways, minister of state for railways K H Muniyappa said on Monday.
The present dispensation would like to pursue the bullet train project which was taken up by former rilway minister Lalu Prasad as a part of a programme to introduce faster train services in the country, he told reporters after assuming charge.
He also said that the railways has to improve its standards. "Providing good services to rail passengers with improved amenities will also be my priority," Muniyappa said.
Seeking cooperation from railway staff, he said together we can make an endeavour for serving people in a better way.
Assuring passengers that there will be no regional bias, he said all regions would be given equal priority by the railways.
Describing railway minister Mamata Banerjee as a dynamic leader, he said, "We will work together as a team for the betterment of railways".
