Hiring prospects in the hospitality sector look bright as a large number of employers are expected to increase their workforce considerably in the coming months, global staffing services firm Manpower says.
According to a survey conducted by Manpower, the hospitality sector reported a steady employment outlook and seems poised for greater job creation in the coming quarters as 17 per cent of employers said that they have positive hiring plans for the July-September quarter this year.
The employment outlook for the next three months - a measure of hiring plans by employers - reported a marginal decrease of one per cent compared with the previous quarter.
"The marginal fall however, does not translate into a worsening situation and the percentage of employers expecting to increase the workforce has risen considerably," Manpower argued, saying that employers' confidence has started improving despite the fears of the influenza epidemic, travel advisories and economic crunch.
The overall trend in this sector is positive largely due to various factors such as improvement in economic conditions (both global and domestic), the stable government, the Commonwealth Games of 2010, and expectations of favourable policy measures in the near future.
