Sending CVs just an SMS away!

May 06, 2009 14:25 IST
Job portal, Naukri.com, has launched a first-of-its-kind service for job seekers, which helps in forwarding resumes to any prospective employer through an SMS.

The service 'Naukri ExpressCV' allows jobseekers registered on the website to forward their resume to prospective employers, free of cost.

"This free-of-cost facility will help people forward resumes even if an internet connection is not available immediately and will make the process faster for individuals," Vibhor Sharma, senior vice-president (product and technology), Naukri.com told PTI.

The new service helps jobseekers send their instantly CVs to a placement consultant or company for a job application from anywhere.

"A jobseeker may meet potential employers, placement consultants during networking events or social gatherings and might like to forward their CV to them immediately, 'NaukriExpressCV' lets that happen instantly," Sharma added.

Further, it is a free service provided by Naukri.com and no charges apply. However, standard SMS rates charged by the mobile service provider would be applicable.

For using the service, a job seeker has to just SMS FWD <destination email address> to 56070 and the CV is send to the destination email id.

On the backend, Naukri.com would email the job seekers' CV to the destination address on his/her behalf and the recipient would receive the email from the job seeker's registered email id on the website.

Moreover, Naukri also plans to let job seekers type out their personal, customised message in the SMS, which would be emailed along with the CV to the recipient.

To avail the service, users have to get their mobile numbers verified with Naukri.com, which helps the service provider confirm that the job seeker's phone number is correct and belongs to his/her account.
