Tata Motors is negotiating with the Jharkhand government to acquire 300 acres of land to set up a vendor park on the lines of the one in Pantnagar (Uttar Pradesh), a senior company official said.

"We are in talks with the Jharkhand government to acquire 300 acres of land for all our vendors to come and set up their units there," Satish Borwankar, Plant Head, Tata Motors' Jamshedpur said.

Such a facility would help vendors keep their operational costs low, he said. Borwankar, however, did not give any timeframe for the project, saying, "At present, there is no government. The final decision will be taken only after the new government is in place."

Tata Motors on Thursday unveiled its new range of world-class trucks comprising multiaxle trucks, tractor trailers, tippers, mixers and special application vehicles.

Besides India, the range will also be gradually introduced in South Korea, South Africa, the SAARC countries and the Middle-East, a company statement said.
