Kingfisher flightThe Bombay high court asked Vijay Mallya-promoted Kingfisher Airlines on Monday to deposit with it Rs 3.6 crore (Rs 36 million) against its dues payable to Lufthansa Technik for usage of engine components.

Lufthansa Technik, an engineering arm of German air carrier Lufthansa Airlines, had moved the court claiming that Kingfisher had allegedly defaulted on paying it money for maintenance of its aircraft.

The Rs 3.6-crore (Rs 36-million) payable by Kingfisher in the court would cover the dues for three months -- July, August and September.

The matter has been adjourned till November 6.

This is yet another case against Kingfisher which has allegedly defaulted in making payments to creditors.

Earlier, public sector unit Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited had dragged the airline to the Bombay high court alleging non payment of fuel dues of Rs 314 crore (Rs 3.14 billion).

The matter is pending as Kingfisher has offered an out-of-the-court settlement.

In another case in Delhi high court, Kingfisher has been asked to return engine components obtained from Lufthansa Technik after it dishonoured an agreement between them for maintenance and use of engine parts.
