Anil Ambani group firm Reliance Natural Resources Ltd reported on Tuesday a 5.27 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 21.16 crore (Rs 211.6 million) for the second quarter ended September 30, 2009.
The company had a net profit of Rs 20.10 crore (Rs 201 million) in the September quarter of last fiscal, RNRL said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Total income decreased to Rs 66.16 crore (Rs 661.6 million) during the July-September quarter of the current fiscal, from Rs 80.91 crore (Rs 809.1 million) in the corresponding period a year-ago.
For the half year ended September 30, 2009, RNRL posted a net profit of Rs 38.38 crore (Rs 383.8 million), up 6.11 per cent over the year-ago period.
Income from operations rose to Rs 97.07 crore (Rs 970.7 million) during the six months ending September 30, from Rs 87.21 crore (Rs 872.1 million) in the year-ago period.
Shares of RNRL closed at Rs 75.30, down 6.34 per cent over previous close on the BSE.
