Even as the Air India Board meets on Wednesday to discuss productivity-linked incentives (PLI) and other issues, the Joint Action Committee of various trade unions has warned against imposing any decision on the employees unilaterally.

In an appeal made to the airline's chairman and managing director, Arvind Jadhav, the committee alleged that various suggestions proposed by the employees to turnaround the carrier have still not been implemented.

The entire focus of the management has instead been on delaying salaries and slashing PLI by 50 per cent, the committee alleged.

Air India had, last month, proposed a 50 per cent cut in its employees PLI/flying allowance as part of its turnaround plan.

However, following protests from its unions, it set up a panel to study the proposal, which is to submit its report by September 30.

"Unilateral decisions on wage-cut/deferment, if imposed, will be met with stiff resistance," the committee said.

The Joint Action Committee comprises representatives from eight unions. These include All India Aircraft Engineers' Association, Indian Pilots' Guild, AI Officers Association,,

Indian Commercial Pilots' Association and Indian Airlines Officers Association among others.
