Bombardier completes production of 100 metro cars for DMRC

Bombardier Transportation has completed the production of its 100th Movia metro car for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation at its railway vehicle manufacturing plant in Vadodara.

Movia metros, popular worldwide integrate the world's most advanced technologies in metro vehicle manufacturing and are developed from a modular platform, thereby offering an expansive range of dimensions that can be customised to specific operator requirements while still ensuring a reliability, safety, maintainability and low life-cycle cost.

Bombardier has delivered mor than 3800 Movia cars till date and is the world's largest supplier of metro cars transporting over 7 billion people every year using its metro cars in cities like New York, Montreal, Toronto, Paris, London, Berlin, Bucharest, Stockholm, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, New Delhi and many others.

Its Vadodara plant was inaugurated in November 2008 that had come up with an investment of 33 million euros. Presently the site is executing the production of a contract to deliver 424 Movia metro cars to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation .The new production site can represent 700 new direct jobs.

In addition, a further 2000 indirect jobs are created in India to respond to the activity increase at Bombardier's local supplier base. Bombardier Transportation has been associated with the Indian market for almost 35 years.
