To strengthen its market share, bike maker Yamaha on Wednesday introduced new variants of its premium segment bikes FZ16 and FZ-S with some added features, priced at Rs 65,000 and Rs 67,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively.

"With the refreshed versions of FZ16 and FZ-S, we want to strengthen our presence in the highly competitive 150cc+ segment and increase our share from 12 per cent to 20 per cent by year-end,"

India Yamaha Motor Director and Chief Sales Officer Koji Arai said in a statement. The company has added stylish graphics in the new variants with some added colour options, targeting the youth. The 153cc bikes will be Bharat Stage-III emission norms compliant.

India Yamaha sold over one lakh units of the FZ series. It sold 85,000 units of FZ16 and FZ-S in last fiscal, which accounted for about 40 per cent of the company's total sales.
