Fly AirAsia X between Delhi, Kuala Lumpur for Re 1

AirAsiaAirAsia X, the low-cost long-haul arm of Malaysia's AirAsia, announced a promotional fare of Re 1 (plus taxes) for a one-way ticket on its Delhi-Kuala Lumpur route.

The tickets will be available on the airline's site and will remain open on August 7 and 8.

The cost of a ticket on Delhi-Kuala Lumpur sector wilh surcharge will be Rs 476.

"This is promotional fare with dynamic pricing and passengers who have booked their tickets on these days can travel between August 10 and September 30," AirAsia X chief executive officer Azran Osman-Rani said at the launch of its daily direct flight to Kaula Lumpur from the national capital.

Delhi is second destination for AirAsia X, long-haul low-cost arm of Air Asia, in India after Mumbai and the 10th worldwide.

Speaking about the future expansion plan, Osman-Rani said, "The launch of Delhi service also marks the culmination of expansion of AirAsia X in India for the time being."

He added that though there were some cities which were on the airline's horizon but the AirAsia and AirAsia X would be catering to those nine cities where it is flying as of now.

"We would like to first see the market then think of expanding service to other cities. But we would definitely like to increase our frequency in the Mumbai-KL sector for 4 flights a week to daily," Osman-Rani said, adding for the time being the airline has used up all its entitlement.

The flight from Kuala Lumpur will leave at 1600 hours and reach Delhi at 1910 hours and on the return leg flight would depart from Delhi at 2025 hours and reach Kuala Lumpur at 0435 hours.

With this addition, AirAsia flies to nine Indian citiesĀ -- Tiruchirappalli, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Cochin, Chennai, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram, Bangalore and New Delhi.
