Videocon to invest Rs 10k cr in Madhya Pradesh

Consumer electronics and home appliances company Videocon, plans to invest a sum of Rs 10,000 crore (Rs 100 billion) in Madhya Pradesh for setting up a power plant, television manufacturing unit and for building a hospital, a top company official has said.

 "This investment will include about Rs 7,200 crore (Rs 72 billion) for a 2,400 MW power plant, a TV manufacturing unit and for building a hospital," Director of the company Venugopal Dhoot, who met Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday, said in a press release here.

Based in India, the Videocon group has manufacturing sites in countries like China, Poland, Italy and Mexico.

The company, since 1998, has expanded its operations globally, particularly in the Middle-East.
