ParliamentGovernment on Friday got financial business, including supplementary demands for general budget and railways amounting to Rs 46,000 crore (Rs 460 billion), passed in Parliament even as most of the winter session was washed out because of Opposition uproar over 2G spectrum scam.

The Rajya Sabha gave its nod to the Railways for withdrawing additional funds of Rs 1024.61 crore (Rs 10.24 billion) for 2010-11 amidst din.

Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee moved the appropriation bills even as Bharatiya Janata Party, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Telugu Desam Party members stormed the well and shouted slogans.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was present in the House.

The Lok Sabha has already passed the general supplementary demands for Rs 45,000 crore (Rs 450 billion) and those for the Railways.

Both the Houses approved the key financial business without any debate as the Opposition did not allow smooth functioning of Parliament to force the government agree for a JPC to look into 2G
spectrum allocation.

The Comptroller and Auditor General has put the 'presumptive loss' of Rs 1.76 lakh crore (Rs 1.76 trillion) to the exchequer because of irregularities in the allocation of radiowaves in 2008.

Because of the stalemate in Parliament, no substantive legislative business could be transacted since commencement of the session on November 9.

The session is scheduled to conclude on December 13.
