In Delhi, pay taxi fare through credit card

February 09, 2010 11:33 IST

Don't worry if you don't have enough cash while travelling on a radio cab in the national capital.

People taking Meru radio cabs can pay their bill by either using credit or debit cards. The company has tied up with Axis Bank as its merchant bank to facilitate card transactions in its cabs.

Visa and Master Cards debit/credit cards will be accepted for fare payment, thereby making life easier for passengers, a release from the company said.

"Consumers today prefer the convenience of plastic money over hard cash and often fall short while paying for their fares, making it inconvenient for them as they have to hunt for an ATM.

"By providing credit/debit card facilities in our cab directly, we are confident that our passengers will find it more convenient and hassle-free," said Rajesh Puri, CEO, Meru Cabs.

The cab service provider has presence in four cities - Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
